According to the results of HomeGain’s 2007 national survey four of the top ten home improvements recommended by real estate agents are Home Staging Projects.

HOME STAGING

  • 97% recommend Lighten and Brighten at a typical cost of $233 - 370 with a return on investment of 355%.
  • 97% recommend Clean and De-clutter at a typical cost of $190 - 318 with a return on investment of 578%.
  • 97% recommend Landscape Front /Back yards at a typical cost of $378 - 546 with a return on investment of 319%.
  • 91% recommend Stage home for sale at a typical cost of $403 - 584 with a return on investment of 343%.

HOME REPAIR

  • 93% recommend repair electrical or plumbing at a typical cost of $436 – 621 with a return on investment of 164%.
  • 94% recommend repair damaged flooring at a typical cost of $628 – 878 with a return on investment of 145%.
  • 87% recommend update kitchen & bathrooms at a typical cost of $1,404 – 1,828 with a return on investment of 121%.
  • 98% recommend replace or shampoo carpeting at a typical cost of $1,532 – 1,950 with a return on investment of 154%.
  • 88% recommend paint exterior walls at a typical cost of $663. – 938 with a return on investment of 147%.

Based on a survey conducted by StagedHomes.com accumulative from June 2007 through November 2008 of 52% vacant homes and 48% occupied homes:

·         staged homes were on the market 80% less time than non-staged homes

·         the average time on market of ASP™ staged homes was 35 days           

May 2008 statistics from the Real Estate Staging Association (RESA) show that in 2007 84% of home buyers use the internet to preview homes before they view them in person. More buyers will view homes that are staged than not staged.
